Big Ears ^® is a patented parabolic reflector that makes possible 'sound gathering' opportunities that were previously "unheard of" in terms of clarity and quality.

Big Ears ^® is a parabolic reflector capable of picking up sounds from well over 500 feet away. It is constructed from a custom plastic material made of a Kevlar, Butyrate and Acrylic combination which was specially developed for this purpose after years of testing and research. The result is a material that allows remarkable audio clarity over a wide frequency range, without the weight, which in the past, made reflectors so cumbersome.

The design of the parabola was calculated in conjunction with a major university to ensure that the contours would provide the most ideal reflective pattern, resulting in a "sweet spot" that can be fine tuned to optimize its use in varying situations. The dish is molded to extremely tight tolerances using Laser equipment. The result not only means that the integrity of the shape is maintained, but also the thickness, which produces sonic consistency and also visual see-through clarity for the operator.
